Student and Staff Enterprise

The University of Winchester has an exciting enterprise agenda, and we actively encourage enterprise activity among our staff and student population

Networking and Inspiration

  • Wired Wessex hosts free monthly business networking events for SMEs. As well as a chance to meet like-minded people and share information, these events offer thought-provoking talks by guest speakers -  and the first drink is always free.
  • Café Culture is a networking opportunity for local creative and enterprising individuals, hosting monthly events featuring a guest speaker.
  • E-network is designed to support enterprising students at the University by inviting a monthly guest speaker to present how they successfully started a business.
  • The high-profile Enterprise Lecture Series offers staff, students and the wider community the chance to come and listen to well-known individuals who have made a real difference.

Developing Enterprise Skills

  • The Enterprise Boot Camp brings together students from regional universities to solve real business challenges set by business experts.
  • Social enterprise and volunteering allow students to develop new and transferable skills through new experiences whilst making a difference to others.
  • External events and competitions - we will be happy to support students in their application process for these.
  • The Enterprise Society offers a range of exciting talks and workshops to broaden students' skills and experience.
  • For the past six years, the Business Start Up scheme has provided funding and mentoring for fledgling staff and student companies and helped them off to a flying start.
