Working with us
The University of Winchester is committed to working closely with the business community and has developed a number of initiatives in which external participation is warmly welcomed, if not vital
Enterprise
The Business Start Up Scheme
In 2005 the University launched the Business Start Up Scheme, with the aim of encouraging and supporting would-be entrepreneurs among students, staff and recent graduates. As part of the application process, applicants wrote a business plan and pitched their ideas to a real business panel, while successful applicants were offered specialist advice and support in areas vital for startups, such as managing money, marketing and legal issues.
Visit the Business Start Up Scheme web pages to find out more and meet our award holders.
Business networking
E-Network
The Winchester E-Network aims to provide assistance to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and other organisations/individuals through providing access to the resources of the Winchester Business School and its partners. In addition, our student teams will help the organisations by for example screening fresh ideas or analysing market opportunities.

Wired Wessex
Wired Wessex is a networking group for small and medium-sized businesses in the Winchester District, coordinated from the Research and Knowledge Exchange Centre. Wired Wessex organises regular networking events around a theme, with talks and workshops provided by guest speakers.
You can sponsor Wired Wessex events; in return, we offer the opportunity to raise the profile of your business at our event and through our marketing material. For more information, contact the Wired Wessex Manager.
