Music Facilities
Practice Rooms
There are three open access practice rooms situated in the St Edburga Building kitted out with a piano, chair and music stand.
These are available for any student to use, without booking, during the day and at the weekend. In the evenings they are used by Winchester Music School for tuition.
Rehearsal Rooms
We have a good size rehearsal room, also in the St Edburga Building, perfect for band and small group rehearsals. This room also has a piano and a good supply of chairs. Music stands can be borrowed on request for this room.
A number of other rooms around the main campus also have pianos available to use including three rooms in the Performing Arts Studios, the Chapel and the Stripe.
All rehearsal rooms can be booked by contacting RoomBookings@Winchester.ac.uk
Storage
Foundation Music is able to provide storage facilities for musical instruments. Bulky items can be accomodated in our Music Block cupboard in the St Edburga Building and lockers are available in both the St Edburga Building and the Performing Arts Studios.
These are available to hire free of charge for students who take an active role in FM ensembles or choirs.

Through Winchester Music School, FM often has music instruments which can be borrowed by students to learn on during thier time at University. If you would like more information please contact Foundation.Music@Winchester.ac.uk
We also have larger instruments and equipment which can be borrowed, through the Student Union, for one-off events. This includes a portable piano/keyboard, drum kit and other percussion. To arrange this please contact Andrew Hodgson at the Student Union.
