Tuition & Workshops
Foundation Music will happily arrange group and individual tuition for students, staff and members of the wider community.
VocalZone
What's it all about?
VocalZone is a series of group singing workshops open to all singers who wish to develop their vocal skills, basic music theory and performance confidence. Attendees are encouraged to join Foundation Music Ensembles to further develop and apply the skills received through VocalZone.
The workshops are open to any repertoire and any level of singing experience. VocalZone is aimed particularly at singers who lack confidence performing in front of others.
Please bring sheet music and/or a backing track with you to each session.
NEW - Following a number of requests from students last year, one session per fortnight will now be exclusively dedicated to music reading skills.
Our Vocal Tutor
Elizabeth Scott-Hall leads all VocalZone sessions and can be contacted via email Elizabeth.Scott-Hall@winchester.ac.uk
How can I get involved?
VocalZone workshops are held every Wednesday from:
10-11am and
11.15-12.15pm
in Performing Arts Studio 3
Please feel free to just turn up at any given session and introduce yourself to Liz. Please take with you, a piece of music you would like to work on.
Can I show off what I've learnt?
Yes! There will be numerous occasions throughout the year when VocalZone students will be encouraged to take part in concerts/singing events both on and off campus. This is not essential, but most VocalZone members have reported that having the chance to perform to an audience has given them the confidence they need to move forward with their vocal development.
Winton Bursaries
We are occasionally able to award Winton Bursaries to students for individual singing lessons. Should these bursaries be available, the majority will be drawn from those who attend VocalZone sessions.
