My name is CHOTIKA SENGTRAKUL, call me shortly Looknam. I'm from Hua-Hin, Thailand. I graduated Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Art from Kasetsart Kamphaengsaen University, Thailand and also a Master at the University of Winchester. I'm a Cultural Heritage and Resource Management (CHaRM) student here.
I had been here (UK) around 1 year to take English course and adjust myself to student life before started studying at Winchester. I think moving here is not too hard for me because I stay with my family (in Reading). Nonetheless, I would say taking course outside university is significantly different from uni, particularly ME. Studying in Winchester is a big challenge and new experience for me because I am an only one international student in class. I sometimes felt awkward and difficult to deal with lessons and different cultures.
However, I can pass and handle it due to warm welcoming from classmates and teachers in faculty. They are so nice, friendly and pleased to help me with lectures. Additionally, University Staff are also willing to help me correct grammar, especially the English Language Teaching & Support Unit (ELTSU) and One-to-one meeting at Main Building. You guys save my life, cheers. Unquestionable, there are leisure facilities which are provided, including gym, pub & restaurants, bars and also clubs for students to join and have fun.
Finally, I'm glad to say thanks a lot to all of you and confirm that here is a comfy and cozy place. I would like to recommend international students to come, study and enjoy your student life here at the University of Winchester.
