New students and staff
Every year we welcome over a thousand new students to the University of Winchester and introduce them to the library services.
When you register as a student you will be issued with a campus I.D. card. New staff will have to collect their I.D. card from Registry. Your I.D. card acts as your library card and you must have it with you if you wish to borrow items from us.
To learn more about what you can borrow and how to find materials please visit the main students and staff library pages. The library also offers a range of other services to support your learning, including group study rooms and an interlibrary loan service. Please visit our services pages for more information about these.
Library tours
If you are a new first year student your course leader or personal tutor should arrange for you to have a library induction during your first semester. This will introduce you to the range of resources that we have, how to find them and how to use them.
We run introductory library tours throughout weeks 1 and 2 (27th Sep - 8th Oct) that anyone can pop along to. These tours only take 20 minutes, so you can come on your own between lectures or with your new flatmates.
