Thorold and Lyttelton

The collection covers all aspects of theology and supports both the teaching and research of the University in this area.

The collection

Consists of some 9,000 volumes, deposited with the University by the Diocese of Winchester in 2006.The collection is named after the two bishops whose personal libraries form its nucleus, the Rt Revd Anthony Wilson Thorold, Bishop of Winchester and the Rt Revd Arthur Temple Lyttelton, Suffragen Bishop of Southampton.

Arranging to view the collection

The collection is available for the use of researchers and others, including members of the non-University community, by arrangement.

The library requires at least 24 hours notice.
