The collection, titled Marking our mark, is designed to celebrate mark making as a fundamental basis for art. The exhibition is presented to coincide with the Hampshire Open Studios initiative, which runs from 22-31 August at locations across the county.
Formed over 25 years ago, 2D3D South comprises Hampshire artists united by common aims and mutual respect, who work in a mixture of styles ranging from the figurative to the abstract.
“The essence of two dimensional art is mark making and we hope that these pieces, worked in different styles from a variety of approaches, will demonstrate this,” said 2D3D South artist Don Richards. “The show is based on printmaking, painting and drawing in a range of materials but, as always, it is the individuality of each artist that provides the group dynamic – or so we hope!
“All of us at 2D3D South have been delighted to exhibit at the Link Gallery for many years – it’s a great space that is well-lit and easily accessible. We look forward to welcoming art lovers to this exhibition as we’ve done in the past.”
Making our mark takes place until Friday 11 September at the Link Gallery, West Downs Centre, University of Winchester, Romsey Road, Winchester, Hampshire, SO22 5HT. Admission is free and parking is available. Opening hours are 9am-5pm weekdays and most weekends. Please note weekend opening may be restricted, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or telephone 01962 827578 to confirm.
