It's ten years since Bill and Guy came together to create the Centre for Real-World Learning at the University of Winchester. Since then they have authored more than 80 books, book chapters and peer-reviewed papers, won awards, seen their research debated in the House of Lords, created a global teacher researcher community: The Expansive Education Network. They have had the great satisfaction of seeing their ideas adopted by schools across the world and been influential advocates for a kind of education which values character and capability as much as knowledge and skill.
In their lecture Bill and Guy will share their ground-breaking research about how our bodies are smarter than we think, what it is to be creative, how children learn and what schools can do to cultivate powerful learners. These two accomplished speakers will pitch their talk to be of relevance to teachers, parents or anyone interested in the state of education today.
