Allocation

Priority will be given to students whose home address is more then 25 miles from the University.

Allocation procedure

Allocation is done on a 'first come first served' basis. Every effort is made to offer students their first choice, although this is not always possible due to the limits on the different types of room. Due to demand for ensuite rooms, many students will be offered their second or third choice, or in some cases, accommodation for which they did not state a preference. Applications are encouraged from students admitted through the ’clearing scheme’ and, whilst University accommodation cannot be guaranteed, every effort will be made to arrange housing for these students in Halls or in the private sector.

Allocation and acceptance

Offers of housing and detailed information are sent to candidates in early September. In the information sent will be the Student Residence Regulations and two copies of the Licence Agreement; which you are asked to read thoroughly and understand before you accept a place. One copy of the Licence Agreement must be returned to the Student Housing office before arriving into University housing, in order to issue any keys. Overseas students will receive a copy of the Student Residence Regulations and a sample licence agreement. They will be required to sign their actual agreements when they pick up their key.
