Burma Road Student Village - Under construction

An exciting new residential development is currently under construction on Burma Road (adjacent to the King Alfred Campus). It will consist of 500 rooms (around 350 of which will be for University of Winchester students), arranged in flats of 6-8 bedrooms, spread over 5 buildings. All rooms will be ensuite and finished to a high standard.
The development will be fully completed for the 2013-14 academic year but it is hoped that around 100 rooms will be ready for 2012-13 (although this is not certain at the time of this going to print).
When fully completed, there will be the following facilities:
- 350 ensuite study bedrooms
- 7 rooms adapted for wheelchair users
- Facilities for students with hearing impairments
- Secure swipe card entry system
- Energy conscious features such as automatic lighting controls
- 24 hour First Aid trained Site Security, CCTV and Police Liaison
- Shared kitchen facilities
- Unlimited internet access included in the rent
- New University gym due to be located on this site
