Service aim
At Winchester we realise where you live is an important factor in deciding where to study.
Undergraduate students
At the University of Winchester we aim to provide University managed accommodation (this may include off campus properties managed by the University) to all first year full-time undergraduates who hold Winchester as their firm choice, live more than 25 miles from the campus (more information on the ‘How to Apply page’) and whose application is received by the Housing office by the 1st August of their year of entry.
In addition we also endeavour to provide students from non-EU countries and students with disabilities who provide evidence of medical needs a room on campus, not just for their first year, but for the duration of their course.
Please note: Depending on demand in any one year - restrictions may need to apply.
Insurance offer and clearing undergraduate students
Whilst accommodation cannot be guaranteed, every effort will be made to arrange accommodation for you. If we are not able to place you in University managed accommodation, we will provide assistance and information to help you secure accommodation in the private sector.
Mature undergraduate students (over the age of 21)
Quiet non-smoking accommodation is set aside for mature students.
Postgraduate students
Only International postgraduate students are eligible to apply for on campus housing. If you are searching for off campus housing, the Student Housing team will provide assistance and information to help you to secure something suitable and also put you in touch with other postgraduate students looking for housing.
