University Managed Housing

The University manages a number of properties in the Private Rented Sector in Winchester.

University Managed Housing are properties that we rent from the landlord and sub-let to the students. The University acts as your landlord and you pay rent to the University and contact Student Housing Services for any maintenance or welfare issues and for general help and advice if you have any concerns. You would sign a University licence agreement.

Properties range from 2 to 8 bedrooms are all self-catered and have shared bathroom and kitchen facilities.  There are designated quiet areas and all are designated non-smoking.

All the properties are fully furnished which includes:

  • Bed (single)
  • Wardrobe
  • Desk and chair
  • Shelving/drawer unit
  • Communal seating – table and chairs or sofa
  • Oven and hob
  • Fridge Freezer
  • Washing machine

Students may need to provide items such as a kettle, microwave, toaster, television, booster aerial and bedside lamp. You will need to bring all your own personal items such as bedding, towels and kitchen equipment. Curtains or blinds are provided for each bedroom. TV licence regulations state that if you have signed an individual agreement and you plan to bring a television to use in your bedroom, you will need your own TV licence.
