Careers Service
The Careers Service offers impartial information, advice and guidance to help Winchester students and graduates* with their career planning and development of employability skills
We offer:

- Impartial and up-to-date information, advice and guidance about occupations, graduate employment, further study/training, volunteering, and other opportunities
- Individual guidance appointments* with professionally qualified careers advisers
- Email and telephone guidance for those unable to visit the Careers Service in person
- A programme of talks and workshops from external speakers on a wide range of topics
- Careers workshops within departments
- Help and advice to students who wish to leave university prematurely
- A JobShop which advertises part-time job vacancies both on campus and locally, vacation work, and national graduate job vacancies
- A volunteering service promoting many local opportunities
- We are a partner in the Graduate Jobs South (GJS) initiative, aimed at encouraging students and graduates to remain in the region after graduation and work for local employers. GJS advertises jobs, work experience, placements and internships on the website.
- The Winchester Passport is an optional, non-credit bearing certificate for undergraduate students to recognise and reward you for carrying out a range of activities and experiences, in addition to your course, that enhance your graduate employability skills

- All information about careers, qualifications, courses and training is accurate, up-to-date and reflects a commitment to equality of opportunity
- Assistance in accessing resources is available for students with disabilities and information can be made available in alternative formats on request. Premises are accesssible by people with mobility impairment
- The Careers Service is an active member of the Association of Graduate Careers Advisory Services (AGCAS) and associated regional groups. This relationship ensures that the information available to students is extensive and professional. Through AGCAS, Careers Service staff also benefit from excellent communication channels, events, support and training
- Prospects is the UK's official careers website for students and graduates. We recommend it as a major source of information on all graduate career areas
* Former Winchester students have full access to the Careers Service for life. Graduates from other higher education insititutions are entitled to use the careers centre resources.
