Faculties

Each faculty has a Chair of Learning and Teaching, and a Research Informed Teaching Project Officer.

They work closely with teaching, research and administrative staff to enhance teaching and act as one of the key interfaces between University wide Learning and Teachingpolicy and its delivery in departments.

Having worked in commercial archaeology for a number of yearsPaul completed his PhD at the University of Southampton in 2006,joiningthe Archaeology Department at the University of Winchester in 2008. With a background of research on archaeological pedagogyhe became RIT Project Officer for the Faculty of Social Sciences in December 2008 and will be conducting research into ’learning spaces’ and intra- and inter-departmental communication and dissemination of ideas.

Sabine Bohnacker-Bruce

 

 

Sabine Bohnacker-Bruce
RIT Project Officer: BLS

Sabine is the RIT Project Officer in the Faculty of Business, Law and Sports. In this role she is conducting research on learning and teaching in the faculty and promoting student engagement in research. Her PhD studies examine the positions of Church of England clergy on other religions from a social-constructivist perspective. Her interests include theologies of religions, applied ethics and the development of religious identity in children. Sabine holds a Masters degree in Philosophy and Religion from Heythrop College (University of London) and a first degree in Marketing from the ‘Hochschule der Medien’ in Stuttgart, Germany. She previously worked in Marketing, Publishing and Communications

Vanessa Harbour

 

 

Vanessa Harbour
RIT Project Officer: ARTS

Vanessa is the Faculty of Arts Project Officer. In this role Vanessa is looking to set up a programme of research opportunities for undergrads and post grads. She is also investigating the use of feedback to advance critical thinking. Her PhD is looking at the problems of representation/representing sex, drugs and alcohol in British contemporary young adult fiction since 1996. Vanessa is the co-editor of Write4Children an ejournal based at the university. She has an MA in Writing for Children and was previously the MD of a PR company.

Penny Lawrence

RIT Project Officer: Education, Health and Social Care.

Penny’s particular expertise is as a documentary maker. She has worked as a producer for C4 and BBC Children’s and School’s TV. She has run the video documentation centre for the municipal pre-schools of Reggio Emilia, Italy.  Penny is a qualified Early Years Teacher who is now studying for her Doctorate in Education.
