PGCLTHE

All new lecturing staff at the University of Winchester undergo training in teaching in Higher Education, or show that they have equivalent experience, and this is an important way that we ensure that students receive excellent quality teaching.

The Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education (PGCLTHE) is run by the University of Winchester. It is a Higher Education Academy (HEA) accredited programme, and staff who successfully complete it are eligible to become a Fellow of the HEA. The Certificate itself forms part of the MA Education: Professional Enquiry.

The PGCLTHE offers a framework for reflecting on teaching, learning, professionalism and the context of Higher Education. The programme is taught by faculty based staff members and experienced practioners, and is spread over three modules, usually taken over two years. The programme encourages colleagues to draw on their experiences as teachers and to pursue their own learning and teaching interests.
