ALFRED is our e-journal that showcases the excellent work of our undergraduate students. Students working on subjects from across the whole university have contributed to the two editions.
ALFRED 3
This (published November 2011) volume show cases 17 student papers, including coursework, FYPs and reflection pieces. Topics covered in this edition include a critique of a creative writing degree, paper examining Hindu pilgrimage, a report on the complexity of ADHD, a discussion on the Human Rights Bill, an analysis of Nokia Corporation, a look at Bosnian Theatre in a war zone. The contributors have demonstrated the excellent work produced by Winchester’s undergraduates.
ALFRED 2
Was published in Autumn 2010, and you can download a copy on the right. It contains reports and papers on a wide variety of topics, including the findings of an archaeological project; an award winning essay on Barak Obama; and the results of classroom-based research in primary geography.
ALFRED 1
Was published in Summer 2009, and includes papers such as a study of drama in prison; the difficulties faced by speakers of other languages at the University of Winchester; Christian Liberation Theology and blindness; and anarchism and Education
ALFRED 4
We're now collecting copy for ALFRED 4. If you know of any undergraduate students’ work (whether essays or FYPs) that demonstrates excellence in some way and deserves to be published (or parts of it published) please email ltdu@winchester.ac.uk
Once nominated, we will work with the student to prepare the piece of work for publication. We are also happy for students to contact us directly with work they would like published. Our next edition should be out in autumn 2012.
