Programme Content

The programme is delivered in partnership with the Congregational Federation and involves substantial elements of practical experiential learning and placements in churches.

The training integrates theology with the life of the Church today and the worlds in which we live. Throughout, students are encouraged to integrate their academic learning with what they learn through the core placement modules, and vice versa. Optional modules allow students to select areas beneficial to the development of their vocation.

The programme aims to offer an integrated pattern of academic learning and practical skills, equipping students to meet the challenges of a postmodern age.

The mode of learning is contextual – throughout this programme students learn from and about the Church, both local and global. Over the course of their learning students undergo a process of ministerial formation.

Assessment

There is a variety of assessment including essays, compilation of worship material, short Bible studies, community-based projects, and presentation/oral defence of work.

Careers

This programme is directed towards ministerial service – understood in a variety of ways – within the Congregational Federation. It is normally a requirement for those who wish to enter the Roll of Ministries in the Congregational Federation.
