Caine Morfett - MA Devised Performance
Faculty of Arts
Biography
Caine Morfett studied BA Performing Arts at Winchester before enrolling on to MA Devised Performance.
“I was attracted to the promotional material that I saw about the MA when I was a third year undergraduate. The programme suited my interests in performance and I could see that it would allow me to delve deeper into devising practice.
“The Devised Performance programme at Winchester is more contemporary than most other universities and there’s support here to help you find yourself as an artist and develop your performance.
“At Winchester you study within a small, friendly close-knit community. The lecturers on the programme offer a fantastic level of expertise. Most of them are themselves practising artists and they treat you, the student, as professional artists too.
“Physical theatre is what I find most interesting. The company, Frantic Assembly, are a great creative influence. I’m currently working as a facilitator and artist, and I run a collaborative company called ‘Inshedout’, making site-specific work. I recently ran a workshop created for children in theatre and we’re introducing them to new kinds of emergent theatre.
“The Devised Performance degree has certainly helped me fine tune my creative abilities and given me greater confidence as an artist.”
