Biography

Jack Curry is taking a part-time MA in Historical Studies at the University of Winchester and hopes to one day study for a PhD investigating the past.

“I work full-time for the National Health Service but am pleased to say that so far I’ve found the MA completely manageable,” he says. “My course fits very well around work. The readings are given out at least a week before and
assignment questions and deadlines are issued at the start of each module so you can start working on them as soon as you need to. I like the way the tuition fees are spread across two years. I’ve also benefited from a University bursary as well as an alumni discount.

“I’m much more confident now and continue to grow as a student. Already this year I’ve managed to develop a number of transferable research skills including analysis, structuring an argument and presentation techniques, which will not only be useful for my studies but help me in the workplace as well.”
