Accommodation

The University of Winchester provides accommodation for about 1,000 students, in self-catering and part-board facilities.

Accommodation in halls of residence is guaranteed for all non-EU students for the duration of their course, provided they reserve a place at least three months prior to arrival.

St Elizabeths HallAccommodation for married couples and single parents is also available, and one area of the student village is designated 'quiet accommodation'. Generally the halls are mixed, but certain areas can provide single sex accommodation. Modified and specially designed accommodation is available on the campus for physically disabled and deaf students.

West Downs, our student village, offers accommodation for over 700 students. Shortly after its completion in 1997 it received a prestigious national housing design award.

The campus halls of residence operate on a part-board basis so most of your meals are provided. You have the opportunity to prepare snacks in the shared kitchen at other times. Most rooms command excellent views over Winchester and are very close to all the lecture rooms, library and facilities.

Should you choose to live out, there is a wide range of private accommodation that can be rented in Winchester, from flats and apartments to lodging with families.
