Biography

I am currently in my third year at the University of Winchester andI am completed my BA in Archaeological Practice in June 2008.

I am Canadian born with Kenyan and South African born parents and Scottish and British grand-parents, making me a truly international student. I was educated in Calgary, Alberta, Canada and only made the decision to study in England a few short months before ever stepping foot in the country. Having said this, it has been the best decision of my life!

I decided to come to the University of Winchester simply because of its highly recommended archaeology department, however, upon arriving I soon found I had made the right choice. The student support is welcoming and approachable and the lecturers are always there to help with course work. The campus itself is amazing! Although quite small, it has a very homey feeling to it and the outstanding new student union is a great place to unwind with your friends after a long day in lectures and the library.

The city of Winchester is a beautiful historic landscape and immediately gave me a feeling of home. The city centre is a great place to spend your free time shopping, getting a bite to eat or going out with your friends at night. The city is also a short trip from cities like Portsmouth, Southampton and London, which offer a great reprieve from university life.

Coming to the University of Winchester has certainly been the best decision of my life and I know that my time spent here and the people I have met will never be forgotten.
