Undergraduate entry qualifications

First year entry
Students whose first language is not English may be asked to provide evidence of English Language ability when applying to the University of Winchester. The requirement for admission to undergraduate degree programmes is a minimum score of 6.0 in IELTS (International English Language Teaching System) including a minimum score of 6.0 in Academic Writing, or an equivalent qualification (for example 560 in Paper-based TOEFL, 220 in Computer-based TOEFL).
All students applying for a Bachelors (BA, BSc and LLB) degree at Winchester will be also be required hold one of the following qualifications:
- Successful completion of a suitable one year UK Foundation programme from a recognised university or further education college
- Holders of the European Baccalaureate with a minimum 6.5/65% depending on the subject chosen
- Holders of the International Baccalaureate Diploma – a score of at least 24-26 is usually required
OR
- Holders of the Baccalaureate General / Technologique will be considered for admission to Bachelor degree programmes with a minimum of 11 /20 or above Students who have studied the Option Internationale are asked to achieve 10-12 /20 depending on the course they choose
- Holders of the Baccalauréat Professionnel (BacPro) may be considered for entry to a Bachelors programme minimum of 11 /20 or above Students who have studied the Option Internationale are asked to achieve 10-12 /20 depending on the course they choose
- Holders of the Brevet de Technician may be considered for entry to a Bachelors programme and holders of the Brevet de Technician Superieur may be considered for 2nd year entry in a suitable subject area with high grades grades
- Holders of the Diplôme d’Etat de Technicien (two years) may be considered for second year entry in a suitable subject area with high grades

Postgraduate entry qualifications
Students whose first language is not English may be asked to provide evidence of English Language ability when applying to the University of Winchester. The requirement for admission to postgraduatedegree programmes is a minimum score of 6.5 in IELTS (International English Language Teaching System) including a minimum score of 6.5 in Academic Writing, or an equivalent qualification (for example 580 in Paper-based TOEFL, 237 in Computer-based TOEFL).
All students applying for a Masters degree (MA/MSc/MBA) at Winchester should hold one of the following qualifications:
- Bachelor degree (Honours)
- Applicants without a first degree but with 5-7 years relevant work experience may also be considered on an individual basis for some Masters programmes
OR
- Holders of the Diplôme d’Ingénieur and Maitrise will be considered for postgraduate study
- Holders of the Licence may be considered for postgraduate study with high grades
