Elizabeth (Liz) Burgin is a Senior Lecturer in Primary Science. She has a broad background in teaching science at school level (from early years to secondary). She is module leader for several of the primary science courses, including a joint module with Professional Studies covering SRE.
Liz enjoys working on cross-curricular activities with other subject areas. This has led to the science specialists taking part in ‘Creative Collisions’ with a local primary school. Elizabeth has a strong interest in taking primary science beyond the classroom. She is also very interested in sustainability and how this can be taught through primary science. She works alongside other colleagues to run, organise and manage the PGCE part-time route.
Liz also contributed to ‘Uluzuzulalia’, a joint cross-faculty externally funded project, run and organised by Professor Yvon Bonenfant in the Department of Performing Arts.
She has organised and presented at the annual Science Fairs for the PGCE.Staff Directory
