Biography

Andy obtained his undergraduate BA in Coach Education and Sports Performance at Bath University and an MSc in Strength and Conditioning from the University of Edinburgh.

He has a competitive sporting background, representing Team GB at many levels. He narrowly missed out on qualification for the Rio Olympic Games in judo, and has subsequently retired from international competition. During his sporting career he represented Great Britain at World and European level for 13 years, winning many medals including British titles, 23 European Championship medals and a Commonwealth Games medal in Glasgow 2014 in judo.

Andy splits his time between lecturing and coaching. He is currently the lead strength and conditioning coach for the Welsh national judo team and has also worked as a consultant for major sports teams including England Rugby, Leicester Tigers, Glasgow Warriors, Scotland Rugby, International Discus throwers, and Scotland Football Association.
