GetActive is an award-winning scheme to help tackle inactivity.

GetActive lets you take part in the sports that you know and love, as well as trying something new for the very first time. We offer a range of sporting sessions in a fun, friendly and relaxed environment.

Sessions will run on a weekly basis and the scheme will work in collaboration with the Students’ Union. Specially designed sessions will be available both separately and together. 

The sessions are run by coaches and volunteers, although some staff sessions are organised to be a pitch up a play session. As our aim for this scheme is to help increase participation in sport for our staff and students there is not a charge on any of these sessions. Some one-off sessions might be charged to cover costs of specialised coaching or equipment.

*GetActive Staff Yoga from 5.30-6.30pm must be booked in advance, please note the 6.30-7.30pm is part of the F&W timetable & chargeable - please be clear when booking which session you would like to attend. For Yoga please reserve your free place by calling 01962827650 option 1 each week – book up to 7 days in advance.

All sessions are complimentary for UoW Staff – no need to book/reserve* just show up at the location, please note some sessions do not have leaders/coaches.

NHS workers are welcome to attend the following sessions: Couch 2 5k, Healthy Walks & Rounders sessions - please note a charge may apply.
