Winchester Employability Fund

The Winchester Employability Fund is aimed at enabling students to carry out activities to enhance their employability. Eligible students are able to apply for funding to support their career development in four areas of activity:

  • Volunteering or Work Experience - receive up to £500 to cover travel costs or other project expenses
  • Driving Lessons - receive up to 24 hours of funded driving lessons with a local driving school
  • Presenting at an Academic Conference - receive up to £500 to cover fees and other expenses
  • GCSE Resits - resit Maths, English and Science GCSE for free at a local college


Am I eligible?

To be eligible for funding you must:

  • be a full time undergraduate Home or EU student at the University of Winchester who began studying in or after 2012

You must also meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • have a household income of less than £42,875 as determined by Student Finance England
  • have disclosed a disability to the University
  • be a young person who is or has been in care
  • be a young carer
  • be from a Black, Asian or Minority Ethnic background
  • be an estranged student
  • be a Sanctuary Award Student


We reserve the right to refuse any application and due to limited funds we will decide on a case-by-case basis.
