Sport and exercise consultancy case study: the Hampshire Institute of Sport

The Hampshire Institute of Sport was a joint venture between the University of Winchester, Energise Me and Hampshire County Council. Unique to Hampshire, it aimed to provide one-to-one sport science support to talented young local athletes to expose them to the kind of environment they might experience should they reach elite performance in their sports.

Launched in 2018, the project included 8 sports, 11 coaches and 29 athletes. Students from the University also gained first-hand experience of working with the athletes in complex environments, complementing their learning and teaching.
