Room 211, West Downs, University of Winchester, Romsey Road, Winchester, Hampshire SO22 5FT

We are extremely lucky to complete a wonderful series of talks this season with a visit by John Timpson, Chairman of Timpsons, the independent shoe-repair and key-cutting retail outlet that can be found on high streets all over Britain. John is a renowned philanthropist and author of ‘Upside Down Management’, promoting the genuine empowerment of staff throughout the company. John has championed the recruitment of ex-offenders, allows all his employees the day off on their birthdays and subsidises staff holidays by investing in staff villas which they can use for free. He has appeared on BBC’s Question Time and Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs and has become renowned for his championing of socially responsible business.

John is an engaging public speaker and a real inspiration for those who want to do good through the power of business.
