Ancient Stanford pop-up museum and archaeological excavations

Join staff and students from the University for this family friendly weekend of archaeology, taking place as part of the Council for British Archaeology's national Festival of Archaeology 2022.

Our team will be digging test pits at the heart of the village, on Millenium Green, on both days, and there will be an exhibition in the Large Hall showing the latest finds from the ongoing archaeological fieldwork across the village, with finds from the Stone Age through to WWII.

The Project Director David Ashby will also give a talk at 3pm on the Sunday afternoon, bringing together the many strands of Standford's unique story.
