Are Brains Different?
Wednesday 12 October, 7pm
The King Rufus Pub & Grill, 135 Winchester Road, Chandlers Ford, SO53 2DU
Do mental health conditions or neurodevelopmental disorders affect brain structure? Do women have larger brains than men? Neuropsychologists try to identify if, when and how our brains differ, yet despite our technological advances to look at brain structures, such questions remain complex. Two main issues stand out: defining what we mean by ‘different’ and agreeing on outcome behaviours.
This talk will introduce audiences with no experience of neuroscience to some of the challenges and implications of studying neurological differences between groups.
Dr Satchell is an expert in measurement, personality, and mental health.
