​Cara (the Council for At-Risk Academics) helps academics in immediate danger, those forced into exile, and many who choose to remain in their home countries despite the serious risks they face.

Learn more about the work of this NGO from its Executive Director, Stephen Wordsworth.

He is also Deputy Chair of the New York-based Global Coalition to Protect Education from Attack (GCPEA), a grouping of UN agencies and NGOs which works to protect schoolchildren, university students and teachers from conflict, instability and repression.
