​University of Winchester in partnership with present an interdisciplinary conference exploring the relationship between women and death.

​This conference will look at the following topics:

  • Gender and Death
  • Death, women and Art
  • Death, Gender and Activism
  • Gender and End-Of-Life Care
  • Religion, Women and Mortality
  • Women as Death Professionals

Keynote speakers include:

  • Felicity Warner, Founder of the world wide Soul Midwives' movement
  • Caitlin Doughty, a licensed mortician and death acceptance advocate
  • Andrew Chesnut, professor of Religious Studies and Bishop Walter F. Sullivan Endowed Chair in Catholic Studies

We are delighted to announce Lozzy Bones will be creating conference merchandise.

This will be available for purchase at the event, along with some exclusive pieces made especially in response to this theme. As an artist Lozzy has regularly explored death and the feminine through her work, engaging with both the iconic & historical representations of Death and the Maiden. Modern influences are evident too, as well as a desire to challenge or subvert the stereotypical female narratives within her art.
