Jürgen Habermas is a German philosopher and sociologist in the tradition of critical theory and pragmatism. His work addresses communicative rationality and the public sphere.

Our speakers:
Dr Vicky Randall is a Senior Fellow and her research interests are located in primary physical education initial teacher education. This has included work on the development of professional knowledge in primary physical education, the construction of knowledge in initial teacher education and physical education curriculum development.
Mathew Fleet is a Senior Lecturer in Physical Education and course leader for MA Physical Education and School Sport in the School of Sport, Health and Social Sciences. He is currently completing his EdD thesis at Winchester, entitled: Ideology and Transformation: Newly Qualified Teachers’ Understanding of Physical Education. A Critical Theory.
