Professor Ray Bull: Improving the interviewing of suspects
Book nowWednesday 14 December 2022, 5pm
St Alphege Building Room 204, King Alfred Quarter, Sparkford Road, Winchester SO22 4NR
The Centre for Forensic and Investigative Psychology are delighted to welcome Professor Ray Bull to give this talk.
This presentation will focus on how psychological research has led to substantial improvement regarding how to interview suspects effectively and ethically. Such research contributed meaningfully to the writing (from 2017 to 2020) of the "universal protocol" recommended to the United Nations by its 'Special Rapporteur' and the subsequent publication in 2021 of the 'Principles of Effective Interviewing'. Examples of such research include the effectiveness of the 'PEACE method' and interviewers' demonstration of cognitive empathy.
Register your attendance for this free event, and please stay on afterwards for a drinks reception.
