Queens and Queenship from the Early Middle Ages to the Tudors and Stuarts
Historians and authors debate the virtues (or otherwise!) of sovereigns through the ages in this panel event.
In this final session, Katherine Weikert will discuss the queens of the Anglo-Norman and Anarchy period, while Elena Woodacre will follow up with queenship in Britain and Europe in the late Middle Ages. Sarah Gristwood will discuss he 16th century from her new book, 'Game of Queens;, while Sara Wolfson will complete our session with her workon the Stuart queens, including the controversial Henrietta Maria in the Civil War period.
