The Rainbow Myth

Wednesday 21 March - Thursday 31 May
The Link Gallery, West Downs, Romsey Road, Winchester, Hampshire SO22 5HT

An exhibition of work from Deborah Ireland representing an emotional exploration of her relationship with her son who has high functioning autism.

Deborah Ireland has been working as an artist in Southampton for many years. The inspiration for this solo exhibition is her son, Daniel, who has autism and it takes place during World Autism Awareness Week 2018. Deborah is interested in making accessible work with a constructive purpose. With visual re-framing of her personal experiences and her predominantly realist style she hopes to inform and communicate her work to a wide audience.

The exhibition includes a portrait of Daniel as well as work involving recycling the vast amount of paperwork and form filling involved with diagnosis and communication with agencies and charities connected with autism.
