Visions from the Tower of Song

Thursday 2 March
Room 301, St Alphege Building, King Alfred Campus, University of Winchester, Sparkford Road, Winchester, Hampshire SO22 4NR

‘Visions from the Tower of Song’ a new book exploring spirituality and desire in the songs of Leonard Cohen edited by Peter Billingham, Professor of Performing Arts, will be launched at a special reception at the University on 2 March.

The book is a follow-up to the successful one-day symposium organised by Professor Billingham at the University in November 2014 to celebrate what was then Leonard Cohen's 80th birthday.

At the launch, Peter will read an extract from his introduction to the book before the screening of a short film about Cohen titled I never discuss my Mistresses and Tailors by David Burden of Southampton Solent University, which was commissioned to mark Cohen’s 80th. The film is preceded by a Q&A session about the film and the book.

Light refreshments will be served. Please RSVP by email to:
