The Writers' Festival is held over three days, from 9am Friday morning till 4pm Sunday evening.

​Lemn Sissay MBE, poet, playwright and broadcaster, will give the Keynote Address at 9am on Saturday17 June. Lemn is the author of several books of poetry alongside articles, records, public art, and plays. He was an official poet for the London Olympics. His Landmark Poems are installed throughout Manchester and London, in venues such as The Royal Festival Hall and The Olympic Park. Lemn is associate artist at Southbank Centre, patron of The Letterbox Club supporting children in care, The Reader Organisation, and inaugural trustee of World Book Night.

In Finding the Words, Lemn will perform some of his poems and shares his insights on seeking the poetry in all creative expression, from his much-loved Morning Tweets to his Landmark Poems, plays, broadcasts and live performances around the world.
