We realise that choosing the right place to study abroad is probably one of the most important decisions you have had to make. At Winchester, we hope that the individual attention we give to international students will help you to choose the right course, will ease you through the application process, will help you settle in to life in the UK and will support you throughout the whole of your university career.
International scholarships of up to £1,000 per year are available on merit.
Here are a few ‘first impressions’ of Winchester from two of our Indian scholarship students:
Mr Siddarth Jain, from New Dehli, India.
Business Management
“I’m focussing on my studies and doing my level best, as studies here are totally different from back home. Here, I have more responsibility for my own learning, through using my own time, the internet and the library. Although it’s a lot of pressure at the moment, this way of working will really prove to equip me and benefit me for my future career.
“Receiving the award has given me a lot of confidence, and I’m really proud to have been given the chance by the university to prove myself as a student”.
Mrs Rajni Gill, from New Dehli, India,
MSc Managing Health and Social Care
“I looked around a variety of other universities but Winchester proved to be the best. I really liked the community atmosphere and the comfortable accommodation. The tutors and students are very helpful and friendly here. I am also recommending Winchester to other people at home, and I am currently talking to seven other students who are interested in coming here. I’m also looking to be in Winchester for a long time. I am going to apply to do a PhD here and then look for work here as well. I’m involved with the Gospel choir and other activities, as I’m really enjoying the community atmosphere."
"I feel very privileged to have received the scholarship. It has really helped towards my fees. Other universities do not offer such scholarships and they don’t seem bothered how overseas students will pay for their fees. Winchester is very considerate to think of this and I really find the entire place quite amazing".
