What are you up to these days?

Between copious amounts of tea and dog walks, I'm self employed as a freelance writer, actress and director. Every day is different - one day I might be pretending to be a reporter outside Downing Street, the next writing a blog on the best ways to decorate your barn wedding venue, all the way to directing musicals for children. Writing wise, I mostly do marketing for businesses, handling their social media, website copy or blogs. I also have my own blog, 'The Secret Performer', where I combine my two joys of writing and performing by raising mental health awareness for performers. I've also written a couple of children's books which I self-published, as working for yourself requires a lot of motivation. They're available on Amazon; 'The Lucas Fairytales' and 'Batilla the Brave'. Plugging done.

Favourite uni memory?

Favourite uni memory? I lived at home during university so only came in for my lectures. I have two favourite memories. We were studying Dracula in one class and had to create a piece based on it. I did not write anything in this creative writing class...I did a painting instead. I think it showed the class I was anything but normal.

Advice for new students?

Think outside the box. If it's been done before, don't do it - it's all about being memorable (in life, not just at uni)

Best thing about UoW?

The campus is beautiful. And the library is a dream. I'm a writer so I don't like to socialise and the library is a great excuse not to talk to anyone.

Guilty pleasure?
