What are you up to these days?

I am currently the Production Manager for BBC Arabic’s Emmy Awarding winning Digital Docs department. I’m the direct counterpart to the producer/director of the film, ensuring their ideas are facilitated on time and within budget. It’s about 80 percent slow agonizing death and 20 percent glorious celebration.

Advice for new students

Don’t expect the “you” in 10 years to be anything like the “you” that exists now so drop some ego off. You will look back at your time at uni with a gorgeous nostalgia, especially the first year, so put yourself in uncomfortable situations, speak up, and challenge your own ideas! Fail, a lot. Spend the first year getting lost and messy but pull the last two years together making sure you get into some healthy lifestyle patterns, use your endless free time to get to the gym and eat well when you can.

Best thing about The University of Winchester

Best thing about Winch is the City: there are so many inspirational locations that will never leave you. Even now, stepping out of the train station fills me with the feeling that I’m home. The Graveyard, The Cat Grounds, St Catherine’s Hill, all the posh windy roads behind the Boy’s School, the Buttercross! Probably time I get myself back for a couple of days. Also the friends I made during my time in Winch are still some of my closest.

Guilty pleasure

My not so guilty pleasure is playing videogames in my pants.
