Our offer
We normally make offers conditional upon achieving a number of UCAS tariff points, providing you have a minimum of 2 x A-level or equivalent qualifications (e.g. 2 x BTEC Subsidiary Diplomas). This gives you the flexibility to include up to 32 points from a range of other qualifications, such as AS-levels not carried over to A2, music or dance qualifications. We also accept points obtained from the Extended Project (EP/EPQ) and accept all A-level subjects, including Critical Thinking, General Studies and own-language A-levels.

International Baccalaureate
If you are studying the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma or individual IB certificates, our offer will also normally be made in UCAS tariff points, providing you are studying a minimum of 2 subjects at higher level. If your course requires a minimum of A-level grade C, you will be required to achieve a grade of 5 points in a related subject at Higher Level.
English Language requirements
All of our courses require you to hold a minimum of GCSE English Language at grade C or 4. However, we accept alternatives for most courses such as level 2 Adult Literacy, Functional Skills or English within other qualifications, such as the International Baccalaureate or Norwegian Vitnemål fra den Videregående Skole (VVO).
If your first language is not English we will usually ask you to take an English Language test, such as IELTS. We require an IELTS score of 6.0 overall, with a minimum of 5.5 in writing for all undergraduate courses, except the following:
- BEd/MEd Primary Education and Journalism - IELTS 7.0 overall, including 7.0 in writing
- Physiotherapy and Social Work – IELTS 7.0 overall, including no element below 6.5
If you don’t quite meet the above IELTS requirements we offer 10-week [link to 10-week] and 6-week [link to 6-week] pre-sessional English Language courses to enable you to join us.
Mature students
If you are over 21 and are able to demonstrate recent study at Level 3 or above, for example achieving one A-level, your application will be considered on its individual merits and work or other professional experience may be taken into consideration in lieu of other published requirements.
Personal Statement
When reviewing an application we look for you to demonstrate a keen interest in your personal statement for the subject you are applying for. This is your opportunity to promote yourself, so try to include as much information about what you want to study and why. Remember to include information about any sporting, creative, musical or other interests you have outside of studying.
