Ed is a mathematician employed as a Consulting Fellow at the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory, part of the Ministry of Defence. Consulting Fellowship recognises and gives enhanced status to those who represent the pinnacle of the customer management and advisory/consultancy career route in Dstl.
Outside Dstl Ed is vice-chair of the Blue Apple Theatre, currently Artist in Residence at the University of Winchester, and is on the Council of the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications. Ed holds Fellowships of the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications, the Royal Society of the Arts, and the Royal Aeronautical Society, and holds Chartered Mathematician and Chartered Scientist designations.
Ed‘s interests include promoting the arts, humanities and sciences working together to create innovation and prosperity, and is passionate about increasing diversity in STEM. Ed is active in the South Downs Gateway group of churches, just outside Winchester.Staff Directory
