Information for Learners

To apply for a Degree Apprenticeship, you need to be:

•    16 or older,
•    resident in England,
•    not in full-time education.

If you are already employed, talk to your employer about Degree Apprenticeship opportunities.

If you are a school or college leaver looking for a degree apprenticeship you can:

•    Contact employers in the careers sector you are interested in and apply for vacancies,
•    Apply through UCAS.

When applying for a degree apprenticeship you will need to:

•    Apply for the job: each employer will have their own application process, but it would typically involve a covering letter and CV, and you may be invited to attend an assessment centre and/or interview
•    Complete your University application: Once you’ve signed a contract with your employer, you will need to fill in the University application form and enrol on the course. This would normally happen a couple of months before the programme starts

Considerations for disabled applicants to higher or degree apprenticeships

The Disabled Students’ Commission has put together a guide for disabled applicants applying for a higher or degree apprenticeship; to help you through the process of asking the important questions of, and making sure you have the necessary support from, the university, college, or independent learning provider from the outset of your journey.
