Venta, our alumni magazine
Venta is the official magazine of the University of Winchester's Alumni Association and is published twice a year. With showcases of alumni success as well as University news, Venta seeks to keep you informed and interested in the impact of your alma mater.
The name Venta derives from the name given to Winchester during Roman Britain - Venta Belgarum, which means market or meeting place.
Venta is printed and posted or emailed to alumni and friends of the University around the world. Be sure to get in touch with us on firstname.lastname@example.org to make sure we have your current contact details.
Do you have a story or news you would like to see in Venta or via our website? It would be great to hear from you.
Recent graduates (up to two years after leaving the University of Winchester) are entitled to use all the Careers Service resources.
Contact the Careers team to book an individual guidance appointment, use the email or telephone guidance service, or come onto campus to use the resources in the Careers Service. There’s lots of free information that you can take away.
All alumni can register for free and use our JobShop for looking for jobs. If you and your company has a job vacancy, why not get in touch to advertise on the JobShop to attract a fellow Winchester graduate or student?
Careers Service - Main Building, King Alfred Campus
Open: Monday - Friday, 9am to 5pm (opening hours may vary during vacations – please telephone to check)
We allow our graduates free use of the library and its facilities and resources. Unfortunately due to high demand from current students you won’t be able to borrow books, but are more than welcome to come and use the Martial Rose library to study or read.
Do you need a replacement certificate or copies of your University transcripts?
Replacement Certificates and Transcripts
Ordering your replacement
If your award was made between 1978 and 1992, your award was conferred by the CNAA (now disbanded) and the Open University now issues CNAA replacement certificates. Please refer to the Open University website for details of how to apply for a certificate.
For all other replacement certificates, please visit the Online Store and purchase 'Replacement Certificate'. For Replacement Certificates there is a charge of £20.
If you require a certified copy of your original degree certificate, please send a scanned copy of your certificate to email@example.com
This will then be stamped, signed and certified as a true and accurate copy and sent to you via email or post (whichever you require).
Requests for transcripts
Most students awarded from June 2015 onwards will have a HEAR (Higher Education Achievement Report) which contains an academic transcript. Details of how to access your HEAR can be found by clicking here.
If your award was made from the year 2000 onwards, please visit the Online Store and purchase ‘Additional Transcript’. For Additional Transcripts there is a charge of £20 for up to 5 transcripts.
If your award was made before 2000, please contact the Awards Officer at firstname.lastname@example.org to request a transcript or confirmation of awards letter. Please note that transcripts from before 2000 are not always available, as transcripts were not produced as a matter of course at this time and not all module results have been kept on record.
Requests for verification of studies or award
If you require a letter confirming your studies and/or award, please email email@example.com.
