Track and Field Athletics
The elite track and field athletics programme is based at the university’s England Athletics recognised track and field stadium, a short walk from the King Alfred campus. If you want to experience training like a professional track and field athlete while gaining your degree, the University of Winchester is for you.
Meet the Coach
Andy Fisher, Head Coach, Track & Field Athletics.
Recognised nationally for developing young talent, Andy has built a reputation for producing standout results on the national and international stage. From GB junior internationals and European U20 finalists/medallists to double-digit English Schools internationals and multiple British age-group records. A true multi-events specialist, he coaches across sprints, hurdles, jumps, throws, and combined events, turning potential into performance through an athlete-centred approach: individualised planning, clear communication, and an enthusiastic, supportive environment that respects the whole student-athlete.
As Head Coach, Andy leads squads competing at the highest student level (e.g., BUCS), integrating S&C, sports therapy, and performance science at the university’s highly rated Sports Stadium. If you’re a high-level track and field athlete ready to push your limits, Andy’s programme provides the coaching, support, and environment to perform at your best.
