Jane is a writer and social entrepreneur. She is the Founder of the Blue Apple Theatre company which recently won the Queen’s award for volunteering and was previously Chair of Winchester & District Mencap Society. She has established various projects which develop skills, independence and friendship networks for people who have learning disabilities. Jane read geography at Cambridge and had a career in publishing and then in brand management with Procter & Gamble before turning to voluntary work. She has been Governor of various primary and special schools. She established bible reading, prayer and Sunday school groups in Essex and Hampshire. A fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, Jane enjoys travel especially to remoter places, and has a particular interest in equal opportunities for people who have learning disabilities.
