Commuting Students Network
Students who join Winchester Students' Union's Commuting Students Network have the chance to connect with other students who share similar circumstances. There are monthly get-together events held on different days and times to try and make them accessible to as many people as possible. Whether students are commuting from within Hampshire or further afield, our Commuting Students Network brings people together and makes them a part of the Winchester community.
Commuter Society Lounge
Created and hosted by our Student Union, the Commuter Society Lounge has been created with homely facilities designed to give commuting students a 'home from home'. Complete with comfy sofas, a microwave and fridge, a shower, lockers, and a suite of network PCs and printer, our commuting students have the chance to meet face to face and build up friendships all across the university.
One thing that I wish I heard before being a commuting student is just knowing that the commuting experience, although it’s different to those who live in accommodation, there’s still a sense of community. You can still engage in activity groups, you can still get involved in all the fun stuff, [and] make friends.
