Course overview
The programme will enable learners to understand their own population, and tailor strategic interventions for individuals as well as targeting systems interventions. This module can be taken as a stand-alone course or as a mandatory module within out Postgraduate Certificate/Diploma/MSc Professional Practice (Community Rehabilitation).

Course details
Lectures will cover the following general topic areas: Review global and local evidence base for aetiology of frailty and falls; review of national and local data, for demographics of falls and frailty; review of national and local epidemiology of falls and frailty; review local and national policy and professional frameworks for frailty and falls; review of literature on effective interventions for prevention and limiting further falls and frailty- namely exercise, nutrition, social engagement, bone health (fracture liaison services), and others; critique the uptake of outcome measures to demonstrate impact of interventions for frailty and falls.
To gain the credits students will be required to undertake a quality improvement project and present it to a tutor.
